City Council District 3 Vacancy and New Council Member Appointment

The City of Marina City Council is taking applications now until February 21, 2024, to fill the District 3 City Council seat following the departure of Cristina Medina Dirksen.   The appointment will be for the remainder of the current term ending November 2024.  The 2019 adopted City Council District 3 boundary must be used to fill the seat because the incumbent was elected during the time that the 2019 boundary was effective.  The 2019 City Council District Boundary Map can be view and downloaded here.  An online GIS map of the prior and current City Council Districts can be found here.

The City Council is accepting applications from interested residents of District 3 to fill the seat until 5 p.m. on February 21, 2024.

Applications must be received prior to 5 p.m. on February 21, 2024.   The City Council will interview all candidates at a Special City Council Meeting on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, prior to voting on the appointment.  All applicants should plan to be in attendance at the Special Meeting.
