If fireworks are a part of your 4th of July celebration, that they are "Safe and Sane"

If fireworks are a part of your 4th of July celebration, that they are "Safe and Sane". Fines for illegal fireworks range from $500 to $50,000.

ALL FIREWORKS MUST BE LABELED SAFE AND SANE AND HAVE THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL SEAL.
•The Municipal Code related to Fireworks is 15.32.040 through 15.32.090.
•Safe and Sane Fireworks may be sold and discharged within the City during the period from 12:00 o’clock
noon on June 28 to and until 11:59 on July 4 of each year.
•For firework stand regulations please review Marina Municipal Code Sections 15.32.080

WHERE CAN I DISCHARGE MY FIREWORKS?
No fireworks are permitted in Monterey County except within the city limits of Gonzales, Greenfield, Marina,
Seaside, Soledad and Salinas.

No fireworks are permitted on the Marina Municipal Airport, CSUMB property or State Parks such as Marina State Beach.

Novelty Items sold at local retail and grocery stores.
Target sells "party poppers" and similar items. While packaging looks just like actual fireworks, it is not. Although they look like fireworks, they are only novelty items.
