[ARCHIVED] Earth Day Celebration and Festivities Saturday, April 23rd

After a two year hiatus, Earth Day Celebration and Festivities Returns to Marina Saturday, April 23rd, 9 am to 1 pm

Marina Earth Day festivities have been canceled for 2 consecutive years due to Covid.  We are roaring back this year.  We have a special focus in that all attendees will be volunteering to do some important, hands-on work in our Live Oak Woodland created next to our Marina library to learn first hand about nurturing our natural environment.  We “walk the talk”!  Children and grandchildren of all ages can also help and enjoy themselves!  We will be doing great things like:

Litter Jitter Bug
Ice Plant Pull
Mulch Madness
Up with Up-planting
Weed Enforcers
French Broom Bash
Transplanting for Life
Mural Painting Magic

This creates community involvement and spirit like no other Earth Day we know!  And there will be free prizes and games for kids including disc golf and face painting, booths from Sierra Club, Blue Zone, Citizens for Sustainable Marina, Save the Whales, Return of the Natives, Audubon Society and many others!  There will be free lunch and a band with dancing!  Come and enjoy yourself and experience real commitment to community.

This is truly a celebration of our community!
