On 9/23/09, about 1319 hours, Marina Police Department received a call of a possible attemptedkidnapping in the area of the 100 block of Seaside Court. Officers responded and contacted thevictim who reported a male had attempted to force her into his vehicle at that location.The victim stated she was walking on the pathway near the rear of the store towards SeasideCourt. As she approached the top of the stairs on the pathway, she saw an African-Americanmale standing next to his vehicle, which was parked at the curb with the passenger door open.As the victim walked past the suspect, there was some brief conversation. The suspect thengrabbed the victim and tried to force her into the vehicle. The victim resisted and was able tofend off her attacker until she escaped on foot. The suspect was last seen getting into his vehicleand travelling west on Seaside Court and then turning north on Reservation Road. The victimwas shaken up, but was not physically injured in the attack.The suspect was described as a dark complexioned African-American male in his 20’s. He wasapproximately 6’0” tall and about 200 pounds. He did not have any facial hair, but did havepimples on his face. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt that was pulled over his headand blue jeans.The suspect vehicle was described as being as smaller black vehicle in “clean” condition. Thevehicle had tinted windows all around. The tire rims were described as being chrome colored“spinners”.This case is currently under investigation.
