General Building Improvements on call contract

Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received by the City Engineer of the City of Marina, located at 209 CYPRESS AVENUE, MARINA, CALIFORNIA, until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, for furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, and other items necessary to execute the City of Marina General Building Improvements On-Call Contract 2023.

This is an on-call work order contract, which shall be used to provide the City with a readily available workforce for repairs to existing facilities, emergency repairs and new construction, as the City deems appropriate. The Contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals necessary to complete the project in accordance with the Contract Documents. In general, the work consists of, but is not limited to repair, replacement and construction of any structure, shelter, enclosure and miscellaneous associated work at such times and locations as required.

The contract with a successful bidder will be for a term of one (1) year with a not to exceed annual funding limit of $1,000,000. The agreement will include an option for an additional one (1) year extension with a not to exceed annual funding limit of $1,000,000. The total term of this agreement will not exceed two (2) years. The amount of work to be requested during the one year or optional additional year contract period cannot be well defined at the outset. No onsite inspection is required prior to bidding. Work shall be issued through Work Orders and may require site inspection prior submission of work order proposal. All issued Work Orders will become an Exhibit to the Agreement.

At the time of the bid opening, the successful Bidder must be legally entitled to perform contracts requiring a Class B General Building Contractor’s license. Any Bidder or contractor not so licensed shall be subject to all penalties imposed by law including, but not limited to, any appropriate disciplinary action by the Contractors’ State License Board.

Bid proposals will be opened and read by the City Engineer or designee in person and via a live video feed. Bidders may attend in person or join the virtual bid opening through an online video conferencing application. Responsive bid proposals, following the bid opening and initial evaluation by City staff, become a public record.

Bidding documents are on file and public may download from the City website, www.cityofmarina.org/bids.aspx. Potential bidders, subcontractors and suppliers are responsible for reviewing the complete bidding documents, including all addenda, prior to submitting their bid. Hard copies can be obtained by calling (831) 884-1212, for a non-re-fundable sum of $50.00 for each set of Pans and Specifications. An additional postage charge of $10.00 for mailing.
