Effective February 1, 2012, all redevelopment agencies in the State of California were dissolved pursuant to AB 1X 26. This webpage contains historical information about the Agency and the ongoing activities of the Oversight Board to the Successor Agency. The Oversight Board's duties, are outlined in Health and Safety Code Section 34180, involve discretionary review and approval of all financial activities of the Successor Agency.
Consolidated Oversight Board for the County of Monterey
The Consolidated Oversight Board for the County of Monterey was established in accordance with the California Health and Safety Code § 34179(j) to oversee the activities of the ten redevelopment successor agencies in Monterey County, thereby replacing all other redevelopment successor agency oversight boards, effective July 1, 2018.
The board has fiduciary responsibility to the holders of enforceable obligations and the taxing entities that benefit from the distributions of property tax and other revenues (Health and Safety Code § 34179(i)).
