The Marina City Council is taking applications to appoint a new District 3 Council Member to fill the vacancy for the remainder of the term ending November 2024.
The City of Marina City Council is taking applications now until February 21, 2024, to fill the District 3 City Council seat following the departure of Cristina Medina Dirksen.
The appointment will be for the remainder of the current term ending November 2024. The 2019 adopted City Council District 3 boundary must be used to fill the seat because the incumbent was elected during the time that the 2019 boundary was effective. The City Council is accepting applications from interested residents of District 3 to fill the seat until 5 p.m. on February 21, 2024. Applications can be obtained by visiting www.cityofmarin.org and clicking on District 3 Vacancy. Applications can be emailed to Deputy City Clerk, Anita Shepherd-Sharp at marina@cityofmarina.org, or mailed/delivered to 211 Hillcrest Avenue, Marina. Applications must be received prior to 5 p.m. on February 21, 2024, in order to be considered at the Special City Council Meeting that will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, to interview and appoint the new District 3 representative.
