How Are We Doing?
At the Marina Police Department, we are always striving to do the best job we can to make you and your family safe and secure. We love to hear about the great things our employees in the Marina Police Department are doing in the community where we all live and work. We value your input in letting us know when an employee has given you excellent service.
While we do our best at all times, we realize there is a possibility that an incident could occur where you may believe the conduct of an employee was inappropriate. We always hope that we can have your trust and support and we count on you to tell us when we haven’t lived up to your expectations. We hold ourselves accountable to you, the residents of Marina, and pledge to do our best to provide safe, efficient, and ethical law enforcement.
While we prefer our supervisors to meet with you in person to discuss how we can address your concerns, a complaint may be filed either in person, in writing, or over the telephone. Informal complaints regarding employees may be handled at the supervisory level between the resident and the supervisor of the involved employee, as long as it can be resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. For more serious complaints, a formal complaint may be initiated. For a formal complaint to be initiated the department must receive a signed citizen complaint form from you and investigators will need to meet with you to take your full statement.
If you would like to praise an employee for a job well done, or wish to file a complaint about an employee, please come to the Marina Police Department or call (831) 384-7575 and ask for the on-duty supervisor to contact you. If the on-duty supervisor was part of the incident you wish to complain about, you may ask to speak to the Administrative Services Division Commander during normal business hours.
